Freelance Fundraising Support

Building Culture is seeking freelance fundraising support to help expand our capacity and expertise. We’re looking for innovative and experienced professionals to help us identify and secure funding as we take on more ambitious and impactful projects.

Currently, we are focusing on 2-3 projects in the development and R&D stages. These projects span a broad range of activities, from large-scale public arts and grassroots community engagement to heritage work and cross-sector partnerships.

In addition, we’re interested in developing models for embedding fundraising roles within our organisation for the long term.

What We’re Looking For
We welcome interest from individuals with significant experience in fundraising and grant applications. Ideally, you’ll bring expertise across some, or all, of the following areas:

  • Sector-wide and localised fundraising
  • Bid writing
  • Relationship brokering and management
  • Attracting investment
  • Sponsorship
  • Crowdfunding strategies

We value creative and strategic thinkers who can support us in unlocking new funding streams, forming meaningful partnerships, and finding innovative solutions to sustain and grow our projects.

About Building Culture

Building Culture CIC is the sibling organisation to DIY arts collective Empty Shop CIC. We combine Empty Shop’s hands-on, delivery-led approach with the placemaking and regeneration expertise we’ve developed over the past 15 years to share, inform, empower, and catalyse change.

Rooted in social responsibility, our unique blend of grassroots heritage and sector-level experience allows us to offer a distinctive way of working. We seamlessly move between advisory, producing, and delivery roles, helping to inform the projects we believe in, as well as initiating our own work.

We are looking for people who align with our DIY roots and methodology.
